The Letter Link members of St Peters Pimperne have been writing letters and cards to Pimperne school. They are stories about things that happened when they were children in the 1940’s,50’s and 60’s. The letters have been laminated to make them cleanable and taken to school. A copy of the letters have been displayed over the Easter Garden collage in St Peters. This collage was made by the school Craft Club ready for Easter but never finished. The back drop shows the ‘hill far away’ with the cross and the cave with the stone rolled away. We look forward to next Easter with hope and prayers that we will be able to welcome the children back into Church again. This project is ongoing and I would welcome more stories to take to school. Please contact Jacqui Torrance 01248 480713 or 07950 753320.
If you have any information that you would like to have placed in the Benefice Magazine then please let Judy know via dpsbenefice@gmail.com. Many thanks
It was with great sadness that we heard on 17th April that Celia Gilbert had died after a long period of very debilitating dementia.
Celia had been associated with St Peter’s church in many ways for more than 30 years. Her children, Katherine and Anthony, attended Sunday School here in the 1980s & 90s, she taught music and singing to many children in Pimperne and the Blandford area, played organ and keyboard for church events, and was a regular member of our congregation, even during very severe phases of her illness.
Our prayers are with Celia’s husband, Mike, and with her children and grandchildren. You can read a lovely tribute from Katherine at http://www.psdbenefice.org.uk/tribute, and if you go to the ‘bellringing’ section of our website (http://www.psdbenefice.org.uk/bell-ringing) you can hear Celia describing the restoration of our bells in 2004/5.
